About a month ago my Dad came down from Idaho to help my Gramps out a bit. If you remember, my Gramps was diagnosed with bladder cancer a couple of years ago, had his bladder removed, and was in remission. Well, the cancer is now back, all over, and he's going through chemo and needs a lot of help. He's hanging in there though!
Anyway, while my Dad was here he invited me to come to my Gramps' and make dinner with him. Being my Dad, he got some big ol' honkin' steaks!
Those are some damn good lookin' steaks though, wouldn't ya say? So, my dad did the steaks and I was in charge of the sides. I didn't do anything fancy, just garlic fries from Trader Joes (which are awesome, by the way, and if you haven't tried them you need to ASAP!!!) and I also made a caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and a balsamic reduction.
Fresh, easy, beautiful, and SO GOOD!!!
I also made dessert which was just a simple angel food cake with balsamic strawberries and whipped cream. Deeeeelishous meal, if I do say so myself. Plus, you can't beat the view...
I'll be posting some Easter stuff this weekend because I'm making the treats for my boys' Easter baskets. I'm sooooooooooo excited!!

I had those fries in my basket once and put them back. I'm getting them next time for sure. Your dinner looked incredible. Yumo on the caprese salad... I want to come to your house!!! Happy Easter
Those are crazy huge steaks!!! Not that I'd expect your dad to get anything less. I mean, really, I know how they cook out at their house! haha! I'm glad you had a good time with all of them! :)
